Angelica archangelica
Angelica Seed Essential Oil
Angelica seed is the second plant material in Terra Distilla's initial range. Distilled from the ripe seeds rather than the root, it is valued in perfumery and fine formulation for its luminous, peppery top notes and its musky depth.
Seed distillation calls for precise timing: the seeds must be harvested at the right stage of ripeness and distilled soon after, before the most volatile fraction is lost. Monitoring the parameters of each run is therefore particularly relevant for this material.
The oil is expected to present a fresh, peppery and slightly herbaceous character, with a musky, warm base. The definitive sensory description will be published on the basis of Terra Distilla's own production batches.
Unlike angelica root oil, angelica seed oil is generally not considered photosensitising. Handling and use conditions remain the responsibility of the professional buyer.
